Reflections: Two Year Anniversary

July 11, 2015.  The date I began Purpose Over Fear with a website (  Almost two years ago.  Two years.  Wow.  TWO years.  God is faithful.

My very first post on was Turns Out God’s Plans Are Better.  As a part of that post I wrote, “I have seen God’s grace, mercy, and love move in my life even though I’m not even close to being perfect.”  Two years later every ounce of this statement remains true.  Perfection is not a prerequisite for God’s grace, mercy, and love.  (Thank goodness because none of us are perfect.)  God does some incredible things with our brokenness and imperfections.

As I reflect on these last two years, the fact that God’s way is better than my plans also continues to be true (which is no surprise).  God literally knows all.  My knowledge has its limits.  I have ideas for Purpose Over Fear, but sometimes God leads me in a different direction.

Overall, this (the Purpose Over Fear journey) is a growing process.  This is an adventure.  This takes the “I trust you with everything even though it doesn’t make sense to me right now” kind of faith.  This takes honest prayers.   I’m so grateful for all that God is doing in my life and with Purpose Over Fear.  I use the present tense because this journey isn’t over.

For all those who are in the early (or later) stages of projects, dreams, and goals, I pray that you:

  1. Know that “success” is not defined by popularity;
  2. Remain faithful in your purpose; and
  3. Enjoy the journey and celebrate along the way.

Blessings and Love,
Purpose Over Fear
