Growth: Faith and Relationship Edition

growth

There comes a point in your life when you stop trying to impress others with a fictitious version of yourself.  You realize that God has made you incredibly special just as you are.  You are not perfect, but no one is.  You are constantly growing, but so should everyone else.  We are all a work in progress.

What led me to this realization?  Life.  Experiences.  Time.

I was never one to be fake, but I did need to spend some time learning about the person God made me versus the person people expected me to be.  It seems like every twist and turn of life revealed something more about who God made me to be.  What was (and still is) happening?  I was (and still am) growing in my faith and in my relationship with God.  If you spend some time with God, He’ll reveal some things to you too.

As you mature in your own faith and as you go through life, I encourage you to reflect on a few things:

  1. If no one supported you but God, would you be and feel okay?  Would you be and feel more than just okay?
  2. If those who mean well didn’t understand the next assignment God was taking you on, would you still be obedient to what God is telling you to do?
  3. How would you handle what you are facing right now if it happened a year ago instead of today?
  4. How do you respond when things around you don’t make sense to you?

I think about these questions because they show me the progress and transformation God has made in my life.  However, there is so much more for each of us to reflect on as we continue to grow in our faith and as we continue to grow in our relationship with God.

Never stop growing, exploring, learning, and maturing.  God has a reason for every moment He allows you to see and God has a reason for making you…well…you.  Life may not be easy, but it’s worth it.
